Daily Term: OAuth

OAuth

OAuth is an authorization framework that allows third-party applications to access a user’s resources without sharing their credentials. For example, a user can grant a social media app access to their Google account data via OAuth. It works by issuing access tokens after user consent, which the app uses to make API requests. OAuth is widely used for secure, delegated access but requires careful handling of tokens to prevent misuse.
